shake it up

Dr. Christiane Northrup knows how to live large, take chances and laugh out loud. And she knows about daughters. In her 2005 book Mother-Daughter Wisdom: Understanding the Crucial Link Between Mothers, Daughters, and Health (Bantam), she explores how the mother-daughter bond sets the stage for a woman’s health throughout her life cycle. But in this conversation, her focus was on a life changing experience she and her daughters shared – Mama Gena’s School of Womenly Arts www.mamagenas.com It left her feeling fabulous.

DR. C AND DR. G

Christiane’s secret for living came to in her in a flash while driving.  Just in her early thirties she "had it all": a thriving medical practice, a husband and a child strapped into a car seat.  But it wasn’t enough.  She needed a challenge.

So she risked it all by starting one of the first all women clinics in the states.  She gave up a big income but she got much more than she risked: the opportunity to connect with women in a deeper and more meaningful way.  This led to her bestseller.  There were lectures, speaking engagements, more books and TV.

When we spoke she decided to share a more recent adventure.  She had just taken a course with Regena Thomashauer (Mama Gena) in New York, "Creatrix and CEO of the School of Womanly Arts and Relationship Technologies".  It was eye opening, she laughs, and she loved every minute of it.  So much so that she sent both of her daughters  to learn Mama Gena’s lessons in the nature of pleasure and fun, and to stir their passion and creativity. "Buying Mama Gena’s books", she laughs, "is essential".

Mama Gena’s books include: Mama Gena´s School of Womanly Arts: Using the Power of Pleasure to Have Your Way with the World (2002), Mama Gena´s Owner´s & Operator´s Guide To Men (2003), and Mama Gena´s Marriage Manual (2004).
